About the Artist
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was born in Seattle, my grandparents lived in Bothell. My art was influenced from a very early age by my grandfather an oil painter and my father who had a masters degree in art. Having been raised in a military family provided the opportunity to travel and study. Traveling and seeing different cultures in Europe and Asia. These Observations were so inspiring and there were so many old masters works to see.
I had an art teacher at Woodbrook Jr. High that really ignited the fire. He taught every aspect of art. From routinely turing in a drawing every week, to art history he made sure we learned al aspects of art.
ABOUT MY WORK
I love color, composition and value I stress in my class. I also refer to artitic license a lot. Do not always include everything you see. There is a certain calm to plein air painting nature. There is sheer awe and beauty in it. Being an artist has a certain commitment to it It will be here long after I am gone. My hope is that I have been able to portray that awe and beauty I have seen. And bring a smile to the viewers face.
